Come on IR website vendors, put some push in your feeds

What’s with the IR website vendors and always being the last ones to the technology party?

I’ve just finished reviewing the web feed implementations of all of the IR website vendors — from Thomson Reuters to Shareholder.com to Investis to SNL to Q4 — and not one of them has implemented push on their clients’ RSS feeds yet.

This isn’t a new technology anymore. My blogs, and millions of others, have been using web feed push for months now. Yesterday, Google began rolling out a new service called Buzz that has push feeds at its core.

Corporate disclosure is the one area that should be at the very forefront of implementing technologies that can get information to investors faster and cheaper. IR websites shouldn’t be the last to adopt these things.
