WHEN I first saw this on JustSystems’ website earlier in the week, I wondered why they didn’t provide a way for me to grab and embed it on this site. It looked to me like an obvious opportunity for them to get some free publicity.
Fortunately, someone had the smarts — their PR firm, I think — to create a YouTube video of their attempt to explain XBRL in Plain English. That means I can now embed it here in all its grainy glory rather than just send you to their website, which I suggest you do anyway because the video quality is much better there.
I’m not sure how “plain” the explanation is. To be honest, I dozed off halfway through. But judge for yourself. By the way, “grab rates” are an important new metric for web content, as we explain in one of the stories in our latest issue of Online IR Trends.
