RIGHT now, somewhere in the world, an IR department is doing stuff that makes everyone else in this business look like amateurs.

They are charting their own course. Pioneering new ways of communicating with investors. Always pushing the envelope, striving for perfect execution. They are in a league of their own. No one else comes close. No one.

They know who they are. You should, too.

Any guesses?

    Sun is not in this league. And why do you say I have a love affair with Sun? When have I ever said anything glowing of Sun? All I’ve ever really done is support the idea that we don’t need wire services for Reg. FD. And we don’t.

    The company isn’t the one asking not to have its name divulged. A client, who rightly points out that he’s paid for this information, makes a valid argument that we shouldn’t be giving away what he’s paying for. I didn’t think about that before I wrote the original post. Blame it on enthusiasm.

    ok, when will you put out.. I mean, let us know? Is it a time based thing? Centred around an award whereafter you can divulge?

    I think the interest of many is piqued, as good IR is oftimes jurisdiction specific eg: the brits and germans seem to have large, thorough IR teams while disclosure or sustaiability info is weighted differently in other jurisdictions

    We won’t be disclosing this company’s name. At the moment, I can’t see that we ever will. But I can tell you that they don’t have a big IR staff. Just a small team that obviously knows what it’s doing and works damned hard.

    We don’t see jurisdictional issues as being that prevalent among the large companies we follow. There is a well-defined global standard for online IR. It’s global IR for a global market on a global medium.

    Sure, a lot of companies don’t know this yet. They’re very parochial in their practices, but this is just ignorance. It’s not because they are prevented by regulation or anything like that.

    Investors are a fairly homogeneous group. They look for the same things no matter where they are. Some slight differences, but mostly it is still always about making money.
