Hild F. Kinder, head of the Norwegian Society of Financial Analysts, said Telenor had won by a “strong margin” with consistently high scores on all main points.
In their comments, the judges said: “Telenor is especially distinguished in accounts and notes and by giving open, reliable and consistent information through reports and press releases having high quality and information value.”
Erling Thune, one of Telenor’s IR directors, said the award was great recognition for the company’s efforts in investor relations and disclosure.
“Telenor has put much weight on reporting according to both Norwegian and U.S. accounting principles as well as fulfilling all SOA demands of disclosure and transparency,” he said.
Telenor ranks high on ethical indexes like the FTSE4Good and the Dow Jones Sustainability index. Telenor has been listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (TEL) and the Nasdaq (TELN) since December 2000.
For its IR website, Telenor currently ranks 7th out of 33 telecommunications companies in IR Web Report‘s rankings.
